Before he came in room
As Sanvi about to sat on the bed, her sister-in-law, entered the room with a glass of water. "Bhabhi, app abhi aram kro, bhai ayege to apko krne nhi denge," (Sister-in-law, rest now, my brother will not let you work when he comes) she said with a smile, handing Sanvi the glass.
Sanvi's cheeks flushed as she took the glass, her eyes cast downward. "Thank you," she said softly, her voice barely audible.
She patted Sanvi's hand and said, "Don't worry, bhabhi, I'll take care of everything. You just rest."
After she left, Sanvi placed the glass on the side table and sat back on the bed, her mind racing with thoughts of her husband's return. She felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, her heart beating faster at the prospect of seeing him.
As she sat there, Sanvi's eyes wandered to the glass of water, her thoughts drifting to the stranger who had saved her earlier. She wondered if she would ever see him again. Sanvi's cheeks flushed again as she pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the present moment.
Sanvi sat on the bed, her wedding lengha rustling softly as she moved. The ghughat covered her face, casting a shadow over her features. She waited anxiously, her heart racing with every sound.

Her look..
Present
Suddenly, she heard the door lock click into place. Footsteps approached, and a figure sat beside her. Sanvi's eyes remained downcast, her hands clasped together in her lap.
The figure lifted her ghughat, revealing Satinder's face. "Uppar dekho," he said in a gentle voice, "hamari taraf dekho." (Look up, look at me.)
Sanvi's heart skipped a beat, but she couldn't muster the courage to meet his gaze. Satinder repeated his request, but she remained still, her eyes fixed on her lap.
He gently placed his finger under her chin and lifted her face. Sanvi's eyes fluttered closed, but Satinder's voice encouraged her to open them. "Idhar dekho, Sanvi." (Look here, Sanvi.)
Sanvi's gaze met Satinder's, and she felt a jolt of electricity. Satinder's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Why didn't you change yet?" he asked.
Sanvi's voice barely above a whisper, "Vo mere kapde nahi the, isliye." (I didn't have other clothes.)
Satinder nodded understandingly. "Choti has arranged some light sarees for you in the cupboard. You can change into something comfortable."
Sanvi's eyes widened in surprise. "Where?"
Satinder gestured to the room. "Here, in the room."
Sanvi's mind raced. How could she change in front of him? She didn't have the courage.
But Satinder seemed to sense her discomfort. He turned his face away, giving her privacy. Sanvi quickly changed into a light saree and returned to the bed, feeling a sense of relief wash over her.
As she settled beside Satinder, he turned to her and smiled. "Better?" he asked.
Sanvi nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. He had made her feel comfortable, respected her boundaries. Maybe this marriage wouldn't be so bad after all.
Satinder gently asked Sanvi, "why Didn't you remove your heavy jewelry yet?" Sanvi didn't respond, her eyes cast downward.
Satinder offered, "Ma madad karu utarne ma?" (Should I help you remove it?) Sanvi nodded slightly, and Satinder began his task.
He carefully removed the heavy necklace, his fingers brushing against Sanvi's skin. As he worked, he kissed the areas where the jewelry had been, sending shivers down Sanvi's spine.
Next, he removed her earrings, nose pin, and waistband, each time kissing the spot where the jewelry had been. Sanvi felt a flutter in her chest, her heart racing with every touch.
As Satinder removed the last piece of jewelry, Sanvi felt a sense of relief wash over her. She was no longer weighed down by the heavy ornaments.
They sat on the bed together, Sanvi feeling a sense of vulnerability. Satinder took her hand, his eyes locked on hers. Sanvi saw kindness and gentleness in his gaze, and her heart swelled with emotion.
In that moment, Sanvi felt a deep connection to Satinder. She realized that he was not just her husband, but a caring and compassionate partner.
Satinder's touch had ignited a spark within her, and Sanvi couldn't help but wonder what other emotions lay hidden beneath the surface. As they sat together in comfortable silence.
Satinder and Sanvi sat on the bed, facing each other. Satinder looked into Sanvi's eyes and asked, "Did you marry me of your own free will?"
Sanvi remained silent, her eyes cast downward.
Satinder's expression softened. He understood that she hadn't wanted to marry him. "Did your parents force you into this marriage?" he asked gently.
Sanvi shook her head. "No, they didn't force me. ahh vvooo unhone puchna nhi tha humsa shadi se phale bss ....I knew about this marriage a week ago."
[They didn't ask me about same]
The room fell silent. Satinder didn't know what to say. Sanvi broke the silence, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're going to touch me today, aren't you? Maa said you have the right to now."
Satinder's face reddened. "No, it's not like that. Don't feel uncomfortable with me, Sanvi. I promise I won't do anything to make you feel uneasy."
Sanvi looked up at him, her eyes searching for reassurance.
Satinder continued, "We can take things slow. We don't have to rush into anything. I just want us to get to know each other, to be comfortable with each other."
Sanvi nodded, a small smile on her face.
The tension in the room dissipated, replaced by a sense of understanding and mutual respect. Satinder and Sanvi sat in silence for a moment, enjoying each other's company.
Then Satinder spoke up, "Let's get to know each other, Sanvi. I want to hear about your dreams, your aspirations. I want us to be friends first."
Sanvi's smile grew wider. "I'd like that," she said.
And so, they began their journey together, as friends, with a deep understanding and respect for each other's boundaries.
As they settled into bed, Satinder wrapped his arms around Sanvi and whispered, "Sanvi, apka swagat hai iss ghar ma, aur hamari zindgi ma bhi." (Sanvi, you are welcome in this house, and in our lives too.)
Sanvi's heart swelled with emotion as she felt a sense of belonging. She knew that she had found a home, not just a house.
"Abse hum apke hain," Satinder continued, "from now on, i all yours." Sanvi smiled, feeling a deep connection to this man who had promised to love and cherish her.
As they drifted off to sleep, Satinder's arm wrapped around Sanvi, pulling her close. After a while, he gently placed his hand on her waist, a tender gesture that made Sanvi's heart flutter.
She smiled slightly, feeling a sense of comfort and security in his embrace. As she snuggled deeper into the blankets, Satinder's hand remained on her waist, a gentle reminder of his presence.
Sanvi's eyelids grew heavy, and she let out a soft sigh. Satinder's gentle touch had lulled her into a peaceful slumber. As she slept, she felt safe, knowing that Satinder was by her side.
The room was quiet, except for the soft sound of their breathing. Satinder's hand remained on Sanvi's waist, a symbol of his love and protection. In that moment, they were one, united in their sleep, and in their hearts.
